The Strategy Audit
Two weeks. Eight layers. One Membership Operations Roadmap that tells you what's actually true about your stack.
The Strategy Audit is the first engagement with Membuild — and the entry point for everything else. Whether you stay for one engagement or seven years, this is where it begins. No vague discovery calls. No free quotes. A structured 2-week review of your entire membership operation, ending with a written Roadmap you own forever.

The 8-layer framework
Eight diagnostic layers. Same framework every time. The depth comes from what we find — not from custom-scoping each engagement.
Every membership business is unique. The systematic way to audit one isn't. We apply the same eight layers to every engagement — which is why the deliverable is consistent, defensible, and shareable across your team.
L1
Stack Inventory
Every plugin, integration, automation tool, and subscription tied to your membership — what's active, what's dormant, what's at risk.
L2
Data Flow
How data moves between your CRM, membership site, automation, payments, and community — where handoffs work, where they break.
L3
Member Journey
The actual member experience walked through end-to-end — signup, onboarding, active engagement, renewal, churn triggers.
L4
Performance
Site speed, hosting cost-to-performance ratio, database health, and where you're paying premium for under-delivery.
L5
Automation
What's automated and working, what's automated and silently broken, what's manual that should be automated.
L6
Monthly Burn
Total monthly cost across hosting, plugins, integrations, and tools — including subscriptions you're paying for but not using.
L7
Risk
Single points of failure, backup status, security posture, vendor lock-in concentration — what breaks the business if X fails.
L8
Strategic Gap
The most important layer — where what you want to achieve in the next 12 months exceeds what your current stack can support.

Delivery
60-min call + handoff
We walk through the Roadmap together. You keep the document — and decide what comes next.
The deliverable
The Membership Operations Roadmap. Yours forever.
Every audit ends with a written Roadmap document — typically 15–25 pages — covering all eight diagnostic layers plus a 12-month phased plan you can act on with us, with another vendor, or in-house.
The Roadmap is yours regardless of what you decide next. Take it to your team, hand it to a different agency, or use it to negotiate with your current vendor. The clarity is the deliverable.
Most clients use the Roadmap to scope what comes next with us — a Project Build, a Support Block engagement, or both. But the choice is always yours.
Inside the Roadmap
- Executive summary (1 page) — the big picture in plain language
- Stack inventory — every tool, status, and monthly cost
- Data flow audit — how your systems actually talk to each other
- Member journey audit — friction points and drop-off triggers
- Performance & infrastructure analysis — speed, hosting, cost vs. value
- Automation audit — what's working, what's broken, what's missing
- Monthly burn breakdown with optimization opportunities
- Risk audit — single points of failure, backup, security
- Strategic gap analysis — where your stack can't carry your goals
- 12-month phased roadmap (Q1–Q4) with prioritized actions
- Recommended next engagement — including an honest "you don't need us" path if that's the right answer
- Appendix — tool recommendations, vendor referrals, reference links
Fit check
The audit isn't for everyone. The honest line is here.
This audit is for you if...
- Established membership business with consistent paying members
- Founder is operationally engaged and available for kickoff + delivery calls
- Open to changing what the audit recommends changing
- Ready to invest $1,500 in clarity before the next big move
- Has an existing platform we can audit (not pre-launch)
It's not for you if...
- Pre-launch idea without a live membership platform yet
- Looking for a free quote on a specific build (we don't do those)
- Not open to changing automation, stack, or operational habits
- Expecting a tactical fix for one issue (that's a support ticket, not an audit)
- Founder won't be available for the kickoff or delivery call
If you're not sure whether you're a fit, send us a short email at [email protected] describing your situation. We'll respond within one business day with an honest answer about whether the audit is the right next step.
Why this audit is different
Most agency "audits" are sales pitches in disguise. This one is a strategic engagement on its own.
Productized scope
Same 8-layer framework every time. Defensible structure. The depth comes from what we find — not from inventing the audit each time.
Fixed-fee, no upsell pressure
The audit is paid for. We're not incentivized to oversell the next engagement. If the honest answer is "you don't need us next," that's the answer you get.
Refund built in
If we determine in week one that we can't help — wrong fit, wrong scope, wrong timing — we refund the audit fee in full. No fight, no friction.
In their words
"I really don't know where I'll be without Danica. She's been a lifesaver, and I'm very, very grateful. If she can help you, just say yes and get her started as soon as you can."
